Autumn Start up, Sept. 8

This Sunday September 8, is our big beginnings day.

There will be Sunday School for the kids from Pre-K to grade 12, and the adults who bring the kids.
Coffee will be on so come and join us for 9:45 am.

Then our worship will start at 11 am with songs to sing, scriptures we read together, prayers we pray for each other and our community, and something for the kids too.

And finally plan to stay for lunch because we're having a BBQ with some amazing BBQ artists, salads, desserts and on and on.

So it's a big day out here in the field this Sunday.

Come and join us for the day and for autumn.

One of our church families has been on the news to make people aware that they are raising funds to get an epilepsy trained dog for their 15 month old daughter Madalyn.  Maddie as she is lovingly called has been diagnosed with epilepsy and parents Marcus and Jessica Dewald feel that this dog will be a big comfort to not only Maddie, but the dog is trained to sense when she will have a seizure and can alert the parents

Advent

The word Advent means "coming" or "arrival." The focus of the entire season is the celebration of the birth of Jesus the Christ in his First Advent, and the anticipation of the return of Christ the King in his Second Advent. Thus, Advent is far more than simply marking a 2,000 year old event in history. It is celebrating a truth about God, the revelation of God in Christ whereby all of creation might be reconciled to God.

It's one of the most dramatic seasons of the year as the world moves from darkness to light. We gather together to celebrate the Advent theme of light in darkness, hope in despair, and a new relationship with God in Christ.


This month Pastor Marc is going to be helping us focus on this season of preparation and watching. Each day during the week he will be posting something here to help us prepare our hearts for Christmas and even more so, for Christ the son of God.

There will be NO Worship Service at Malmo,
this Sunday,  June 10th.

All are welcome to come to camp on Pigeon Lake for our special  Children's Day Service at 10:30am.
Lunch will be provided and there will be lots of fun and games for the afternoon.
All are welcome to come!

This is the weekend of the Canada Conference Annual Meeting being held at Concordia University in Edmonton. All are welcome to attend the public meetings below.

Thursday 7:00pm Opening worship service. Jeff Anderson will be speaking

Friday 7:30pm Worship service with Dave Olson Speaking.

Saturday 7:30pm Worship Service with Robert Owens Speaking.

The business meetings are on Friday afternoon starting at 1:15pm until supper time and then starting again on Saturday morning at 9:00am until lunch. The public is welcome to sit in on these meetings even if you are not a delegate, you just can't vote.
